Remember Me
Watched Remember Me this past weekend. Most teen Twilight/Rob Pattinson fans will LOVE it. But the ending spoiled it for me.
Here's the STORY from the official Remember Me web site:
~In the romantic drama Remember Me, Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family. Tyler didn’t think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. Love was the last thing on his mind, but as her spirit unexpectedly heals and inspires him, he begins to fall for her. Through their love, he begins to find happiness and meaning in his life. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart. Remember Me is an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one’s life.~
It wasn't a GREAT movie, but it had my attention. I mean, Rob Pattinson can actually ACT, even if sometimes a little too dramatic~for example, The Boardroom Scene at His Father's Office~. Emilie de Ravin was great as Ally, Pattinson's character's love interest in the movie. Caroline Jerins, the young actress who plays Tyler's younger sister was fun to watch. The development of the relationship between Tyler and Allie and how they dealt with the baggage that each carried with them kept me interested...until The End. Maybe the REAL ending got lost during editing...Film Editor attached the wrong ending to the final cut?
*sigh* so much to like about this movie....
Still, the ending left me wondering "WHY?"
Recommendation: ~Wait for the DVD with an (hopefully) Alternate Ending~ ;-)
