Remember Me

Watched Remember Me this past weekend. Most teen Twilight/Rob Pattinson fans will LOVE it. But the ending spoiled it for me.

Here's the STORY from the official Remember Me web site:
~In the romantic drama Remember Me, Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a rebellious young man in New York City who has a strained relationship with his father (Pierce Brosnan) ever since tragedy separated their family. Tyler didn’t think anyone could possibly understand what he was going through until the day he met Ally (Emilie de Ravin) through an unusual twist of fate. Love was the last thing on his mind, but as her spirit unexpectedly heals and inspires him, he begins to fall for her. Through their love, he begins to find happiness and meaning in his life. But soon, hidden secrets are revealed, and the circumstances that brought them together slowly threaten to tear them apart. Remember Me is an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one’s life.~

It wasn't a GREAT movie, but it had my attention. I mean, Rob Pattinson can actually ACT, even if sometimes a little too dramatic~for example, The Boardroom Scene at His Father's Office~. Emilie de Ravin was great as Ally, Pattinson's character's love interest in the movie. Caroline Jerins, the young actress who plays Tyler's younger sister was fun to watch. The development of the relationship between Tyler and Allie and how they dealt with the baggage that each carried with them kept me interested...until The End. Maybe the REAL ending got lost during editing...Film Editor attached the wrong ending to the final cut?

*sigh* so much to like about this movie....

Still, the ending left me wondering "WHY?"

Recommendation: ~Wait for the DVD with an (hopefully) Alternate Ending~ ;-)

Imperfect Mom

Sometimes I feel so inadequate as a mother. I'll never be the mother that my own mother was. You know, the mother that bakes the cupcakes for the school party, helps chaperone the school trips to the zoo, has a healthy afterschool snack and then a hot supper on the table.

Me, I'm the mom that forgets to send back permission slips, or signed report cards. The one that has to be reminded by her children calling her at work that tonight is the Open House night for the parents at school. And then I'm that mom whose car screeches into the school parking lot 10 minutes before the Open House is over and most of the teachers already gone. The mom that grabs take out on the way home from work for supper.
My children know I love them though. I need to accept that I'm not perfect and have faith that this crazy busy life we have all works out in the end.

I love reading blogs. For quite some time I've wanted to try blogging myself and yesterday finally took the first step. Not sure yet what this will become.
