My Golden Retriever Puppy
I love my Golden Retriever puppy. He's about 5 months old now. He loves to play fetch. And "sit" for treats...even when I'm not asking him to.
This week he learned a new trick all by himself--tip over the water bowl and splash and slide in the water all over the kitchen tile. I think I'll get him a Slip'n'Slide to play on outside this summer. : )
Sometimes I call him "my golden boy" and tell him that he's "smarter than Lassie". I know it's silly. My daughter tells me I'm so EMBARRASSING. And when I ask how can she be embarrassed since we're the only people who can hear me, she says, "THAT"S just how EMBARRASSING you are mom". She's fifteen.
I love puppies! We were at the dog park the other day and saw a golden retriever puppy all gangly and awkwardly running around... it was precious!
ReplyDeleteAnd... I'm wondering if you sometimes wish your 15-year-old was still just 5 months :)
Thanks for the follow! Following you back. We have a puppy too - almost 8 months old. The chewing is a bit of a nightmare, but she's a cutie! Maltese/bichon mix.
ReplyDeletewow, i noticed that you 'signed on the dotted line' and followed my blog. thank you, what an honor and i'm going to keep my eye on you, too :)
ReplyDeletei enjoyed reading your post, especially when i came to the part where your daughter was SO EMBARRASSED by you, and i had a good laugh! i have a 15 year old granddaughter and she feels exactly like yours does (about me, not you, lol). she can be such a pain but i'm intrigued by the life she lives, completely seperate from the family yet in the same house.
hope you are enjoying your weekend and your golden boy :)
AAWW we have a chocolate lab and she is our first "baby"!
ReplyDeletePamela, thanks for checking out Mother Words. So happy to know about your wonderful blog.
ReplyDeleteI love this post, and I can see my six-year-old saying the same thing! I'm in for it, I guess.
I look forward to reading more.
